UFC veteran avoids four-fight losing skid with clinical first-round finish at Noche UFC

A UFC fighter picked up his first win in three years at Noche UFC.

The third annual Noche UFC event is upon us in San Antonio, Texas. Brazilian contenders Diego Lopes and Jean Silva are scheduled to go five rounds or less in the featherweight main event.

The undercard was a mixed bag between finishes and decisions, and one no-contest.

27-year-old Alden Coria won his UFC debut via TKO stoppage after a towel had been thrown and former UFC title challenger Tatiana Suarez fought to a decision.

The Noche UFC prelims ended with a textbook finish from Duško Todorović.

Duško Todorović brutally taps out José Medina to snap losing skid

A fighter out of Serbia, Todorović came into Noche UFC on a three-fight losing skid to Zach Reese, Mansur Abdul-Malik, Christian Leroy Duncan.

Todorović faced off against Bolivia’s José Medina in a one-sided middleweight bout.

‘Thunder’ outstruck Medina on the feet and he took the fight to the ground twice. Todorović effectively used head movement to avoid taking much damage against Medina.

Four minutes into the fight, Todorović secured Medina’s back and attempted a rear-naked choke.

His face covered in blood, Medina was forced to tap out, putting Todorović back in the win column for the first time in 2022.

Did Duško Todorović save his UFC career?

Todorović improved to 13-6 with the dominant first-round submission.

Unfortunately, Todorović still has a losing record in the UFC at 4-6.

Tonight was his first victory since his ground and pound TKO over Jordan Wright in Oct. 2022.

Signed off Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019, we’ll see if Todorović is here to stay after beating Medina, who is now 11-6 as a pro after a four-straight loss for the Bolivian.
