The Bloody Elbow staff can see a shock occurring at Noche UFC 3 when Diego Lopes takes on Jean Silva on September 13.
In the main event of Noche UFC 3, Diego Lopes aims to climb above Movsar Evloev to become the top-ranked contender for the UFC Featherweight title
However, standing in his way is the #10-ranked Jean Silva, who will seek to tap into his alter ego, “Lord Assassin,” to beat his fellow Brazilian in what should be an exciting bout.
Lopes is looking to bounce back from a loss to Alexander Volkanovski for the vacant title, but he will face a tough test against a menacing Silva in San Antonio, Texas.
The Bloody Elbow staff have ummed and ahhed before making their prediction about who could come out on top at Noche UFC 3 between Lopes and Silva.

Diego Lopes vs Jean Silva predictions
Kyle Dimond: I think Diego Lopes’ brawling striking style, a bit like in the Alexander Volkanovski fight, is going to run into some problems against the cleaner work of Jean Silva.
The big question for me in this fight is whether Lopes tries to get it to the ground, where he might have the advantage. I would lean more towards this being a striking matchup, which gives Silva an edge.
PREDICTION: JEAN SILVA TO WIN
Jordan Ellis: To me, Jean Silva looks like the next great featherweight. Diego Lopes is fun to watch, and he’s got some skills, but 7 losses show he’s not world-class. I expect Silva to dominate Lopes and become the first man to stop him in the UFC.
PREDICTION: JEAN SILVA TO WIN VIA STOPPAGE
Ross Markey: I’m picking Jean Silva to prevail this weekend and continue his impressive rise at featherweight. He has all the tools at hand to deal with the upper echelon of the division, including Lopes. Silva to score a late stoppage after a back-and-forth clash
PREDICTION: JEAN SILVA TO WIN VIA LATE STOPPAGE
Jamie Theodosi: I think this is as even a matchup as you can get in the featherweight division. We have seen on multiple occasions that Diego Lopes somewhat thrives in chaos, and think he could bring some chaos in this fight.
PREDICTION: DIEGO LOPES TO WIN VIA TKO
Hamish Woodward: We’ve seen Lopes suffer some difficult defeats before and always bounce back, and I expect this clash with Silva to be no different.
While his wild brawling style could make him easy prey for “Lord”, I expect Lopes to get the job done within the five rounds, bringing some much-needed uncertainty into the fight and finishing off Silva in style.
