Dana White shares theory on boxers’ records ahead of Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford

Set to dip his toe into the boxing world for the first time this weekend, Dana White has weighed in on the pro records of certain punchers.

Ditching Noche UFC 3 for a massive outing at Allegiant Stadium, Dana White will promote the undisputed super middleweight title fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

And joining Turki Alalshikh and Sela in promotional duties for the event, White has emerged as a figurehead surrounding the super fight.

Sharing some distinct takes on the world of boxing in the past, White has now shared his two cents on the record of some boxers in the sport.

Dana White dissects the records of boxing’s biggest stars

Ahead of his debut as a promoter in pro boxing this weekend, White has weighed in heavily on the records of certain boxers, and namely, why so many are boasting unbeaten résumés.

As far as he’s concerned, the fact that matchmaking in the boxing world can play out in lengthy negotiations, leaving the best of the best missing out on chances to fight each other, many records are filled with a stunning number of wins.

“As you look at boxing, and where it is right now, everybody is undefeated, right?” White told The Herd with Colin Cowherd during an interview.

“All these guys are undefeated, because they won’t fight anybody,” White continued. “Now, in the UFC, whatever division you were in, you fought the toughest guys all the way up to becoming a world champion.”

Dana White vows to ‘fix’ broken boxing model

A long-time critic of professional boxing and the figures involved in the sport, White made a massive claim earlier this summer before setting foot into the squared circle.

Noting his success with the UFC and its business model, White claimed he would “fix” the boxing model from the get-go upon his initial landing.

“I like taking things that are broken, can’t be fixed, and I’m going to fix them,” White told AP. “There’s no way I would get into something that I couldn’t run and control.”
