Over his incredible career in boxing, Canelo Alvarez has earned a substantial amount of money, and he is set for another huge payday.
This coming Saturday, the biggest boxing fight in recent years will take place as Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford clash for the undisputed super middleweight title at the Allegiant Stadium.
The fight is not only hugely significant because of the title implications, which will see the winner take home a new one-of-a-kind belt, but also because it’s the first major boxing event promoted by UFC boss Dana White.
However, ahead of the fight, the Mexican champion has been told he has ‘overstayed his welcome’ at the top of the sport, despite years of sheer dominance and success.

Dana White responds to rumor that Canelo will earn $100 million from super fight
Over his career, Canelo has made a significant amount of money and at one point, he signed a huge $365 million deal with DAZN which made him the world’s richest athlete.
Since then, he has continued to make significant amounts of money in the sport, and he is once again set for a huge payday this coming Saturday.
Reports have surfaced that Canelo could be set to earn as much as $100 million guaranteed for the fight and the main promoter, White, has responded to these rumors in a question about fighter pay and its comparison to UFC fighter pay.
“Well, there’s a handful of guys that always make that kind of money. When you look at the UFC, the money is spread across the entire group of guys, you eat what you kill,” White told Vegas PBS.
“If you are a huge star like Conor McGregor or Ronda Rousey, many people have proven that they could sell PPVs, and you eat what you kill here. We also have guys that would be considered ‘journeymen’ in boxing that make millions of dollars. The whole fighter pay thing is completely not true.
“Obviously I’m doing this Canelo vs Crawford fight and I don’t think anyone is questioning what these two are gonna get paid,” White said before he was questioned how much they will earn.
“Well imagine how much it would take to get Canelo to fight Crawford and have a guy move up weight classes when he’s undefeated. Probably ($100 million),” White answered.
The UFC boss went on to claim that he doesn’t know what Crawford’s base pay is for the fight, stating that it was negotiated with Turki Alalshikh.
Crawford revealed how much he is getting paid for Canelo fight
Although White has claimed that he doesn’t know how much Crawford is guaranteed for his fight against the Mexican champion, ‘Bud’ recently revealed the figure himself.
In a recent podcast with Ring Champs, Crawford revealed that he will earn a guaranteed $10 million, stating that he took the fight for legacy as opposed to the money.
