The wait is finally over, and the much-hyped fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford is finally upon us.
The undisputed Super Middleweight championship bout is one of the most highly anticipated Super fights in recent years, as the two legendary champions face off for the first time.
Terence Crawford can become the most decorated undisputed champion in history if he finishes off Canelo Alvarez, although the Mexican’s size advantage could have a big part to play in the proceedings.
Crawford is making the sizable jump up from Light Middleweight to take on the 168 lb king, something the Bloody Elbow experts realize could be a step too far for Bud.
The experts have all made their predictions for how the main event on September 13 will go, picking who will walk out as champion after Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford.

Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford predictions
Kyle Dimond: I think it’s going to go right down to the wire, and like a lot of people, the weight is the only thing that I can point to as a factor that will separate them.
That might allow Canelo to control the ring a bit more and land some big eye-catching shots. I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if Crawford gets it done, though.
PREDICTION: CANELO ALVAREZ TO WIN
Jordan Ellis: There are weight classes for a reason. I think Terence Crawford is one of the best boxers in the world today, but he’s not a super middleweight.
‘Bud’ looked beatable at 154lbs, so I expect him to really struggle at 168lbs.
PREDICTION: CANELO ALVAREZ TO WIN VIA LATE STOPPAGE
Jamie Theodosi: Canelo has proved time and time again that he can adapt to whatever is in front of him. Rightly so, coming into this fight, the main talking point is regarding the weight difference.
Rarely do we see the fighter moving up have a lot of success, and I don’t think we will here.
PREDICTION: CANELO ALVAREZ TO WIN VIA DECISION
Ross Markey: I’m picking Canelo Alvarez to retain his belts this weekend and inflict the first loss of Terence Crawford’s career.
It’s such a fascinating matchup, however, akin to Canelo’s ill-fated light heavyweight move in pursuit of Dmitry Bivol, I think Crawford has his hands full against the bigger man.
PREDICTION: CANELO ALVAREZ TO WIN VIA DECISION
Hamish Woodward: As has been said countless times in the build-up to the fight, the weight class issue will make all the difference in this fight.
We’ve seen Canelo win as high as Light Heavyweight, while Crawford is a Welterweight doing his best to jump three weight classes to match one of the best fighters of the 21st century.
It seems an impossible task. Canelo may have struggled to land KOs in the last few years, but there is no chance Bud will have the power in his hands to finish off Canelo. It should be an easy win for the heavier man, although it is probably going to go the distance.
