Canelo Alvarez’s net worth
Canelo has accrued a tremendous fortune during his two-decade career in the boxing ring, with an estimated net worth of around $275 million.
This includes his reported $400 million deal with Riyadh Seasons, earning him $80 million per fight, including his upcoming bout with Terence Crawford.
Canelo Alvarez’s next fight
After his defeat to Terence Crawford, there has been no confirmation about Canelo’s next fight.
The former undisputed Super Middleweight champion still has three fights left on his five-fight, $400 million deal with Riyadh Season, although against whom we simply do not know at this point.
Some have predicted Canelo to face Jake Paul next, in a bout that was initially touted before the YouTube star took on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr earlier this year.
Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford
Canelo was shocked by Crawford after he was beaten on points by a man jumping up multiple weight classes to challenge the undisputed Super Middleweight champion.
Crawford beat Canelo on points in front of the third-largest gate in boxing history, as millions tuned in to watch the super fight between two of the all-time greats.
This win made Crawford a three-time undisputed champion, becoming the first man in history to go undefeated in three separate weight classes.
Canelo Alvarez vs Floyd Mayweather
Canelo suffered defeat for the first time in his career when he went one-on-one with the undefeated Floyd Mayweather in September 2013.
Both men went into the fight with perfect records, but it was the all-time great Mayweather who outboxed the Mexican in a dominant performance.
Canelo only managed to land less than a quarter of his punches, with the lightning-fast Mayweather dodging nearly everything that was thrown at him.
The judges recognized this and awarded “Money” the unanimous decision win, extending his undefeated streak to 45 and ending Canelo’s in disappointing fashion.
Canelo Alvarez vs William Scull
Kicking off his $400 million deal with Riyadh Seasons, Canelo landed a unanimous decision win over William Scull to become the undisputed Super Middleweight champion.
It was the first time anyone had unified all the belts in the four-belt era and made Canelo a legend in the division with his judges’ decision win over Scull.
Canelo Alvarez vs Miguel Cotto
A 25-year-old Canelo stepped into the ring with Miguel Cotto before picking up one of the biggest wins of his career up until that point.
Canelo and Cotto were cautious in their attacks in the fight, putting on a competitive bout that saw neither man want to risk being knocked out by the other.
Canelo outboxed Cotto and earned a unanimous, if not controversial, decision victory over the former WBC Champion in a fight that broke PPV records.
