On Saturday night at UFC Paris Caio Borralho suffered just the second loss of his professional career.
This past Saturday, the premier promotion returned to the French capital for another strong UFC Paris main event between middleweight contenders Nassourdine Imavov and Caio Borralho.
Heading into the fight, both 185lb contenders knew that with a win, they could secure themselves the next shot at Khamzat Chimaev‘s middleweight title.
The French contender went on to score the unanimous decision win after a three round war which saw both fighters dig deep.

Borralho breaks his silence following disappointing loss
The UFC middleweight champion shared his instant reaction to the fight, congratulating both fighters for an entertaining fight.
Also reacting to the fight was standout middleweight contender Reinier De Ridder who claimed he fell asleep during the fight.
Earlier in the night, Borralho’s Fighting Nerd teammate Mauricio Ruffy also suffered his first loss in the promotion, marking the end of what has been an incredible run for the team.
However, ‘The Natural’ isn’t looking to be out of action for too long and not long removed from his loss in the French capital, he broke his silence on social media.
“What’s up guys! Tough night yesterday but we move forward only! Thanks everyone and let’s go to the next one! I want to be more active now… What about a fight at (Madison Square Garden) in November or the T-Mobile (Arena) in December? I’m down. Let’s go!”
Who could Caio Borralho fight next?
Following his loss, the Brazilian was somewhat targeted by a middleweight contender he trained with ahead of his fight, as Sean Strickland labeled him an ‘idiot’ for cutting weight twice in a short space of time.
With Strickland also looking to return to winning ways, a fight between Borralho and Strickland could make a lot of sense next.
Despite that, UFC Icon Joe Rogan recently made an argument for Strickland potentially being next to fight for the title, despite having lost his last fight.
