UFC at the White House is slowly coming together.
The idea to have a UFC title fight on the White House lawn was brought on by President Donald Trump on the fourth of July, garnering national headlines for the premier promotion.
Many fighters have already started to campaign for a spot on the card, including Jon Jones, Ireland’s Conor McGregor, and Colby Covington, the first UFC champion to be invited to the White House.
The UFC’s massive White House event was initially targeted for Saturday, July 4th, 2026, the 250th birthday for the United States. However, a new report now says otherwise.

UFC event at The White House gets new date and possibilities
The White House card will go down in June 2026, one month earlier.
That’s according to a report from The Wall Street Journal, who gave an inside look at the planning for the once-in-a-lifetime event.
With the UFC Octagon on the South Lawn, new information suggests that we could see UFC fighters warming up for their fights from inside The White House.
The Lincoln Memorial is being looked at as a potential venue for the ceremonial weigh-ins. A fight week full of festivities could be in store for fans at the National Mall.
Fireworks and light shows are also on the table for the UFC’s event at the White House, along with huge screens to show the fights.
There may be no American champions by the time the UFC reaches The White House
As of this writing, there are 10 reigning UFC champions. Only one of them is American.
Ohio’s Kayla Harrison won the UFC women’s bantamweight title from Julianna Pena in the co-main event of UFC 316, via submission.
Not long after, the only other American champion Jon Jones relinquished the heavyweight title with his official retirement in June.
Thought to be a shoo-in for the UFC’s White House card, especially since she let President Trump hold her UFC belt, there’s a possibility Harrison fights again before then.
Harrison’s next opponent is more than likely the greatest female fighter of all time in Amanda Nunes.
Nunes’ coach Din Thomas recently revealed Nunes is targeting a return to the Octagon in December.
Should Harrison lose to Brazil’s Nunes, the USA would be all out of champions for the White House card unless an American wins a belt between now and June.
