Jake Ellenberger says Terence Crawford beats Canelo Alvarez
Jake Ellenberger knows exactly what Terence Crawford is capable of.
And with that in mind, he’s siding with his countryman to get the job done against Canelo Alvarez.
In an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, Ellenberger explained: “He’s incredible.
“I’ve known him since he was young in Omaha; he’s always been a big supporter and a good friend.
“In fighting and combat sports, you’ve got guys that are great athletes, and then you’ve got great fighters, and he’s one of those rare guys who’s both.
“He likes to fight. He grew up fighting on the streets in North Omaha. He’s a fighter in every sense of the word.
“Going back to that discipline, he’s always training. People ask me what he does for fun — trains. I’ve always admired his work ethic. It’s no surprise where he’s at today — one of the greatest of all time.
“He’s always had a chip on his shoulder, which is good — from the Olympic trials, to nobody knowing who he was, and now fighting Canelo Alvarez.
“He’s got a very high-level fight IQ alongside that fighting spirit. He’s fast, too.
“I think where he has an advantage over Canelo is that he’s quick, he’s got incredible counters, he’s very elusive, and good at staying out of danger.
“I think Terence Crawford wins that fight.”
