Jon Jones has always been confident in his abilities, which he showed perfectly by celebrating in the octagon before finishing off his opponent.
The former UFC Heavyweight champion is one of the most dominant fighters in MMA history.
Jon Jones lost just once in his career, and that was by disqualification, as he became a champion at Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight, destroying some of the top fighters in UFC history.
He was clearly a special fighter since the start of his career, as Jones’s cocky, first-round finish in his fourth fight showed.

Jon Jones celebrated after stunning Ryan Verrett seconds into their 2008 bout
While still early on in his career and building a name for himself in MMA, Jones put in arguably the most dominant performance of his career in just his fourth fight.
“Bones” was, predictably, 3-0 going into his bout at the United States Fight League: War in the Woods 3 event, where he took on little-known fighter Ryan Verrett.
His first three bouts all ended in different ways, with a TKO, knockout, and submission win already on his record.
Meanwhile, Verrett was 1-3 going into this fight, which seemed like a mismatch between a future great and a middling professional who’d never make it to the top.
Jones made sure that was the case after just 14 seconds. The uber-confident Jones looked incredibly relaxed in the ring, strolling around the canvas before the bell rang without a care in the world.
He absorbed a brutal-looking kick to the midsection as soon as the fight started, which barely affected Bones. He sized up Verrett for a few seconds before throwing a massive overhand right, completely taking him down to the mat as the crowd screamed in unison.
As soon as Verrett hit the mat, Jones raised his arms in celebration, cockily expecting the fight to be over. However, Verrett had some life in him, so a few seconds of ground-and-pound made sure the fight was over after just 14 seconds.
This is, to this day, Jones’s fastest finish in MMA, and his recent retirement makes it unlikely that it is beaten.
Jon Jones retired from fighting but could feature on the UFC White House card
Despite still being at the top of his game, Jones recently retired from MMA completely.
Back in June, Jones announced he was retiring from fighting, leaving Tom Aspinall to be declared the official UFC Heavyweight champion in his stead.
Despite his retirement, many expect Jones to feature on the UFC White House card, which is rumored to feature numerous top stars on the July 4, 2026, event.
However, Dana White gave “billion to one” odds of Jones fighting on the card, so it seems unlikely that he will get the chance to beat his fastest knockout time again in the UFC.
