Who is Nassourdine Imavov? Meet ‘The Sniper’ chasing UFC Middleweight glory

His sole loss in that period was a jump up to Light Heavyweight, where a defeat to the impressive Sean Strickland was the only loss in his record in the past four years.

Nassourdine Imavov’s next fight

Imavov’s next fight is against Caio Borralho in the main event of UFC Paris on September 6, 2025.

The Frenchman returns home to headline the event, which takes place at the Accor Arena in the capital city, at the top of a stacked card on the road to UFC 320.

Both men are top-ranked Middleweights, and a win for the Sniper could earn him a title shot at Khamzat Chimaev’s Middleweight belt.

Nassourdine Imavov vs Israel Adesanya

Imavov picked up the biggest win of his career when he dismantled former two-time UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in just two rounds of their clash in Saudi Arabia.

The pair battled at UFC Fight Night 250 in February 2025, with both men on wildly different trajectories: Adesanya on a streak of losses and Imavov riding a three-fight win streak.

While Adesanya looked strong in the first round, he was knocked out in the second with a spectacular combination of punches, an overhand right and left uppercut from Imavov, forcing the referee to end the fight and hand the Frenchman the victory.

Nassourdine Imavov vs Sean Strickland

After his fight with Kelvin Gastelum was called off due to injury, Imavov stepped up to Light Heavyweight to challenge Sean Strickland on short notice back in January 2023.

Strickland dominated the tempo and controlled the fight from the start, although Imavov impressed with the frequency and accuracy of his strikes.

However, that was not enough to take home the win, as Strickland beat Imavov by unanimous decision according to the judges in Las Vegas.
