Mike Perry was not impressed by one of his fighters’ performances at Dirty Boxing 3.
There’s no UFC this weekend, but 11 UFC veterans made the walk to the Dirty Boxing ring in Miami, Florida, on Friday.
The main event of the evening saw former UFC contender Jairzinho Rozenstruik become the promotion’s inaugural heavyweight champion with a first-round knockout of Rakim Cleveland.
A couple of fights before that, recently released UFC star Bryan Battle aced his DBX debut by taking out 3-9 regional MMA fighter Derik Freitas in a massive mismatch. Freitas quickly went down twice and quit less than a minute in.
Post-fight, promoter Mike Perry said he’d bring back Battle for another fight.
As for Freitas, Perry isn’t going to ‘sugarcoat’ the disappointing loss one bit.

Mike Perry ‘upset’ with ‘sidecar’ Derik Freitas after Bryan Battle loss
After the opening bell, it took less than 30 seconds for Freitas to go down to the canvas.
Less than a minute into the fight, Freitas was down again and grabbing Battle’s leg. The referee separated the fighters and told Freitas to get up.
“He pulled him down a little bit. It’s not over,” Perry said as Freitas was grounded.
“Come up. Get up. Freitas isn’t even looking where he’s going. Come on! You gotta get up,” Perry said.
Freitas did not, so the referee waved the fight off as a TKO stoppage for Battle.
“We’re all a little upset with Freitas after that one,” Perry continued.
“Not gonna sugarcoat it…
“‘Freight Train’ just didn’t want no more.
“He’s no longer the ‘Freight Train’ now. He’s a side car,” Perry suggested a new nickname for Freitas.
Alex Caceres picked up his first win post-UFC
UFC fighters went 6-5 at Dirty Boxing 3.
Among the winners were Battle, Rozenstruik, Jessica-Rose Clark, Landon Quiñones, Tyson Nam, and UFC fan-favorite Alex Caceres.
The former UFC featherweight nicknamed ‘Bruce Leeroy’ redeemed himself in his second Dirty Boxing bout by defeating Shawn West by second-round TKO.
Without his usual afro, the 37-year-old Caceres rocked braids for his first post-UFC win and first knockout since 2022.
