BKFC fell behind schedule tonight in Budva, Montenegro.
The premier bare knuckle boxing promotion has been all over the world since its inception in 2018, with only a few hiccups along the way.
On Saturday, BKFC holds their first event in the country of Montenegro, from Top Hill in Budva. The 11-fight card initially had a 2pm EST start time.
At the top of the hour, the promotion announced the event would be delayed for the fans watching at home, but not by how long.
BKFC postpones Budva Fight Night to later time due to weather
For hours, heavy rain has been pouring on Top Hill, which is an outdoor venue.
As of this writing, it’s still raining in Budva and according to forecasts, there’s a chance this weather continues until 2AM EST tonight.
A minute after the event was supposed to air, BKFC announced the broadcast would instead air on the BKFC App at a later time on Saturday.
“Weather-related technical disruptions have unfortunately postponed today’s scheduled live broadcast of BKFC Fight Night Budva from Budva, Montenegro,” BKFC said in a statement.
“The highly anticipated event is still taking place as scheduled at Top Hill in Budva.
“The live broadcast will resume on The BKFC App if/when conditions permit, and the event replay may be available at a later date.”
Update: BKFC posts new start time with tape delay
It’s safe to say the BKFC fans are craving some bare knuckle violence this weekend.
But, will they get it? That was the question for a little while.
Many took to social media to express their frustration in not being able to watch the event on time.
“Maybe don’t plan an outdoor event, f— sake, man,” one fan wrote on Instagram
“Like when? Later today… tomorrow… next week? Lol c’mon now,” a fan asked what the new start time was.
“Later time as in later today, or another day,” another fan questioned the promotion.
According to their website, the Fight Night event in Budva will start at 7pm ET with a tape delay.
“BKFC Fight Night Budva from Budva, Montenegro will air via tape delay on The BKFC App tonight at 7 pm ET / 4 pm PT,” the promotion announced.
