‘Best fight ever’… Joey Essex wins over fans as wild boxing debut is branded ‘crap Hagler vs. Hearns’

Joey Essex won a bunch of new fans during his gutsy boxing debut at Misfits 22.

The reality TV star made a surprise switch to fighting in Manchester, England, on Saturday night.

Joey Essex went to war with Portuguese influencer Numeiro in a highly entertaining four-round scrap.

There wasn’t much skill involved, but both men showed tons of heart as they put on a Fight of the Night contender.

Who is Joey Essex?

Joey Essex made his name on the British reality TV show ‘The Only Way Is Essex’, which follows the lives of a group of young people from the Brentwood area of England.

The 35-year-old quit ‘TOWIE’ in 2013. Since then, he’s appeared on several other reality TV shows, including Love Island, Dancing on Ice, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Essex has boxing in his blood. His father, Donny Essex, is an ex-fighter. Tony Sims, his uncle, is a world-renowned coach who has worked with the likes of Anthony Joshua, Conor Benn, and Ricky Burns.

He’ll never win a world title, but Essex showed he’s got the heart of a fighter in his boxing debut.
