13-time UFC veteran books wild fight against hockey enforcer at BKFC Ice Wars

Former UFC fighter Charles Rosa is hitting the ice.

There’s a new combat sports promotion in town and it’s BKFC Ice Wars. The new hybrid sport takes the puck and stick out of hockey fighting, letting their competitors go head-to-head in ‘The Ice Box’, a 900 sq. ft. enclosure on ice.

The concept came to life earlier this year, with its inaugural event held in June.

A couple of UFC fighters are on the Ice Wars roster, with Brian Kelleher and Charles ‘Boston Strong’ Rosa, who will be making his hockey fighting debut this Fall.

Released from the UFC in 2022 after 13 fights, Rosa is now riding a five-fight win streak on the regional scene.

Following a brief no-fight stint in GFL, the longtime UFC featherweight signed to BKFC Ice Wars in June.

A former hockey player in college, Rosa says he can be a superstar in this new promotion. We’ll see about Rosa’s potential in his first fight against hockey enforcer veteran Reid Krasowski.

Rosa is set to meet Krasowski in the middleweight co-main event of BKFC Ice Wars 3 on Oct. 10 in Sunrise, California.

“Back to my roots,” Rosa said of the news.

At 39 years old, Rosa says he still has some fight left in him.

Not looking to retire anytime soon, Rosa says he wouldn’t mind fighting in the BKFC’s Squared Circle after his Ice Wars debut.

Rosa’s last win actually came in bare knuckle MMA, back in November.

Speaking about bare knuckle boxing, Rosa apparently told BKFC boss David Feldman his price to fight for their banner while at an event, leaving the door open for a crossover.
