On July 6, 2019, Joe Rogan watched as Jon Jones edged out Thiago Santos by the narrowest of margins, inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
However, while the Brazilian pushed ‘Bones’ close, he’s only won one fight in the years since.
In an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience from 2024, the podcaster discussed the contest, saying: “He gave Jon Jones some serious f—— trouble, and Jon destroyed his legs.
“He needed double knee surgery after that fight. Both of his knees were destroyed. That side kick to the knees — Jon is so good at that.”
