Conor McGregor is clearly trying to get into fighting shape ahead of a potential comeback to the UFC Octagon.
Having not fought since 2021 when he broke his ankle during his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier, it seemed as though Conor McGregor would never step foot back in the Octagon.
Despite that, it was recently announced by the American President Donald Trump, that the UFC are set to host a one-of-a-kind event from the White House next year, and McGregor immediately declared his interest in competing on the event.
And with that, the Irishman recently made a huge step towards actually being able to compete again when he re-entered the drug testing pool, registering his first test session this year.

Ben Askren slams McGregor for recent sparring footage
Although ‘The Notorious’ seems keen on returning to action, he still has a long way to go until he is sharp enough to return to the sport.
And despite re-entering the testing pool, UFC legend Daniel Cormier believes McGregor’s talks of a comeback are only to ‘stay relevant’ and that he won’t actually make a return.
However, the former UFC double champion has seemingly returned to some form of training as he has been consistently posting footage on his social media of him on the mats.
This past Friday, the Irishman posted a series of videos of him training in a gym in Italy, where he was seen sparring with young fighters.
In the videos, the former UFC champion is teeing off on what seems to be a far younger and less experienced fighter, and he has received a lot of criticism from the fanbase, as well as former UFC star Ben Askren.
“What does beating up fighters who aren’t good prove or do to make you better? These videos are so dumb,” Askren commented on the videos of McGregor.
McGregor seemingly getting restless with the UFC
Although there have been continuous talks of him returning to the UFC, BKFC president Dave Feldman recently dropped a bombshell that McGregor is currently preparing to fight the winner of the upcoming BKFC fight between Mike Perry and Jeremy Stephens.
And in his Instagram post, McGregor captioned it: “Charge this for free to the game, on the MACK! Cos I am FED UP PAYING for this bulls— we keep seeing! Bare Knuckle is MORE EXCITING!
“If you’re not MURDERING PEOPLE WITH YOUR GROUND AND POUND! F— off. I possess 100% ground and pound accuracy on my record! Out with your note pads, ‘professional’ peasants. See you all at BKFC for REAL MADNESS!”
