It didn’t take long for UFC veteran Bryan Battle to get signed by another promotion.
A middleweight winner of season 29 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, Bryan Battle (12-2) had so much potential prior to his UFC release earlier this week.
Battle was cut by the UFC after back-to-back weight misses in the welterweight and middleweight divisions. Battle missed the 186 lb limit by four pounds at the UFC 319 weigh-ins, which led to his middleweight fight with Nursulton Ruziboev being cancelled.
Battle left the premier promotion with an impressive winning record of 7-1 (1 NC). The 30-year-old rode a four-fight win streak into free agency where he was quickly picked up.
‘The Butcher’ even has his debut date.

Bryan Battle signs with Mike Perry’s ‘Dirty Boxing’ promotion
Welcome to Dirty Boxing, Bryan Battle.
On Friday, ex-UFC star Mike Perry’s Dirty Boxing announced they had signed the red-hot free agent Battle.
According to the mixed rules promotion, Battle will debut at Dirty Boxing 3 on Aug. 29 in The Hangar in Miami, Florida. Battle’s opponent has not been announced at this time.
Battle is scheduled to compete at 185 lbs. The former UFC fighter accepted the fight on a week’s notice and he will attempt his second weight cut to middleweight in two weeks.
Battle’s Dirty Boxing debut streams live on YouTube.
Bryan Battle could return to UFC with a few wins
Things would have been different had Battle not missed weight for his fight against Randy Brown.
Battle was on the verge of a welterweight ranking heading into his fight with Brown and the weight miss likely prevented him from cracking the top 15 after the split decision win.
While the UFC isn’t happy with him missing weight across two different weight classes, a few more wins and solid performances could get Battle back into the good graces of the promotion.
We’ve seen countless other fighters return to the UFC after putting together decent win streaks on the regional scene, such as former Sean O’Malley foe Kris Moutinho.
