‘Send the contract’… Khamzat Chimaev rival is adamant his ‘unique’ skill set would cause problems for the UFC champion

Khamzat Chimaev could have a huge challenge on his hands.

On Saturday night, ‘Borz’ produced a truly dominant performance at UFC 319.

In front of a packed crowd at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, USA, Chimaev ragdolled Dricus Du Plessis, en route to relieving the South African of his middleweight title.

Now, attention has switched to who the new champion might face next.

Reinier de Ridder believes he can beat Khamzat Chimaev

Reinier de Ridder was very impressed by what he saw from Khamzat Chimaev at the weekend.

However, the Dutchman still believes he’s the grappler’s kryptonite.

In an interview with MMA Fighting, the former One Championship title-holder said he presents: “A unique challenge. My skill set is very different from the other guys.

“I’m very much down for the fight. We’re working on it, so I hope it comes together.

“If he takes me down — good. If he wants to stand up — good.”

De Ridder is scheduled to take on Anthony Hernandez at UFC Vancouver on October 18. And should he win, he’s more than willing to fight Chimaev just one week later.

When asked if he’d take the match-up at UFC 321, the warrior replied: “100%. No hesitation. Send the contract, right now.”

Reinier de Ridder wanted to bring in top contender to prepare for Khamzat Chimaev

De Ridder would leave no stone unturned during his training camp for Chimaev.

‘RDR’ already knows exactly who he’d want to spar with to prepare himself for the clash.

Interestingly, De Ridder named the one person who could help him beat Chimaev.
