Ryan Garcia labels potential Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis fight ‘delusional’ as he offers shock prediction

Jake Paul is reportedly set to return to the boxing ring to take on Gervonta Davis in an exhibition fight.

This past Wednesday, news broke that Jake Paul is set to return to the boxing ring to take on Gervonta Davis in an exhibition bout in November.

Paul’s last outing came against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr back in June when he largely dominated the former Mexican champion on the way to a unanimous decision win.

Following the event, Paul made it clear that he wanted to fight former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, and talks seemed to be going in the right direction up until now.

Ryan Garcia slams potential Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis fight

However, although things seemed to be trending in the right direction for that bizarre fight, rumors began to surface this Wednesday that Paul will take on ‘Tank’ Davis next in an exhibition fight.

Despite that, it hasn’t been officially announced by Most Valuable Promotions yet and with there being a huge size difference between the two fighters, the negotiations will likely be ongoing.

And with that, former rival of ‘Tank’ Davis, Ryan Garcia has labeled the potential fight ‘delusional’ claiming there is no way it will happen, despite the reports.

“I strongly doubt this happens, no way Gervonta accepted 195lbs. Gervonta is already small naturally and you really think he will decide to balloon up to 195lbs. You’ve got to be delusional to think this is going to happen,” Garcia said on X.

Davis’ last fight came against Lamont Roach Jr back in March where the two fought to a majority draw and the consensus was that they would take part in an immediate rematch.

Ryan Garcia boldly predicts Jake Paul would beat Davis

Despite thinking the fight will not happen, Garcia has provided a shock prediction for the potential clash, claiming that he would bet on the ‘heavyweight’.

“Gervonta is 5’4 and last weighed in at 133lbs you’d be crazy to think he can do anything to Jake… If the fight does happen I’d bet on the heavyweight,” Garcia claimed.
