Dione Barbosa breaks her silence after UFC 319
On Sunday, Dione Barbosa issued a social media statement after falling to 2-2 as a UFC fighter.
“At UFC 319, I didn’t get the result I wanted, but I got something even more valuable: growth.” she wrote on Instagram.
“Every fight is a chapter of my story, and even in defeat, there’s always a lesson. As Michael Jordan once said: ‘I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.’
“Defeat is never easy, but it makes me stronger, pushes me to evolve, and brings me closer to my goals.
“Thank you to everyone who sent messages, showed love, and believed in me through the highs and the lows. And thank you @ufc@mickmaynard2@danawhite for the opportunity to keep living my dream on the biggest stage.
“Short notice wouldn’t be possible without @ufcpi staff thanks much for everything and for keep me ready for anything, anytime and everybody. I’m grateful to everyone for the work.
“The best is yet to come and I have the best TEAM, it’s a honor to have you guys in my corner and I promise to do more day by day.”

Dione Barbosa’s loss was the only UFC 319 moment the commentators got really upset about.
“This has to stop happening,” Daniel Cormier fumed about the unanimous 29-28 scorecards.
“These judges can’t keep doing stuff like this time and time again, especially when these fighters are getting a win or a show bonus.”
“That was shocking… I think that is a bad decision,” Rogan added after his post-fight interview with Karine Silva.
