Baysangur Susurkaev dominated his debut on Dana White’s Contender Series season nine opening episode, knocking out Murtaza Talha with an impressive kick to earn himself a UFC contract.
The Russian mixed martial artist will not have to wait long before he features on the big stage, as he is booked to face Erin Nolan on the UFC 319 card on August 16.

Baysangur Susurkaev was born on January 8, 2001, making him 24 years old as of August 2025. “Hunter” is from Chechnya, where a host of UFC fighters like Khamzat Chimaev and Ismael Naurdiev also hail from.

Susurkaev stands at six feet two inches tall, equivalent to 188 cm. He currently competes in the Middleweight division in the UFC, which has a weight limit of 185lbs. He last weighed in at 186 lbs.

Baysangur Susurkaev and Khamzat Chimaev
Susurkaev and UFC 319 headliner Khamzat Chimaev have known each other for a long time before he earned his UFC contract this week.
The pair are longtime training partners, with Susurkaev helping Chimaev prepare for some of his biggest fights, including his bout with Dricus du Plessis for the UFC Middleweight belt.
It appears training with Chimaev has helped Susurkaev, too, as he is now a part of the UFC roster.

Susurkaev’s next fight is against CFFC Champion Eric Nolan on the UFC 319 prelims, as he makes his debut in the biggest promotion in the world.
The fight marks a quick turnaround for the Russian fighter, who just days before was fighting for a contract in front of Dana White.
After impressing, he now has a chance to kickstart his UFC career on the prelims of one of the biggest shows of the year, although it won’t be an easy fight for the Russian.
Baysangur Susurkaev vs. Murtaza Talha
Susurkaev first became known to the American public when he appeared on the ninth season of Dana White’s Contender Series, battling Talha in a middle-of-the-card bout.
The Russian dominated the contest with a cool performance, looking borderline relaxed through the three-round contest.
Susurkaev finished off Talha with a nonchalant kick to the gut, which sent him crashing to the ground, despite it apparently having very little power to it. In doing so, he earned his UFC contract and a spot on the UFC 319 prelims.
