One of the biggest UFC events of the year is just days away now but there have been some changes on fight week.
At UFC 319, the Octagon returns to the United Center in Chicago, where a strong PPV card builds towards one of the most highly anticipated fights of the year.
Dana White believes Dricus du Plessis’s clash with Khamzat Chimaev is guaranteed to deliver, with several other matchups also having a good chance of stealing the show.
While one fighter called for White and the matchmakers to make him a late addition to the card, it now looks like one bout has fallen off just days out from August 16.

Diego Ferreira claims his fight with King Green is no longer happening at UFC 319
The featured prelim spot for UFC 319 was set to have King Green taking on Diego Ferreira in a battle of lightweight veterans.
This would’ve been Green’s second outing of the year as he looked to bounce back from what many believe is a knockout of the year contender.
Having been stopped by Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 313, the 27-fight UFC veteran had the chance to return to the win column by making it back-to-back losses for Ferreira.
Unfortunately, Cole Shelton of BJPenn.com has reported that Ferreira told the site that this matchup is no longer taking place at UFC 319, though he isn’t sure why at this time.
The Brazilian stated that his weight cut was going to plan and he was clearly excited about the prospect of facing Green, though it will seemingly no longer happen on August 16.
Ferreira was beaten earlier this year by Grant Dawson, snapping his two-fight win and finish streak.

UFC 319 will still go ahead with the originally planned amount of fights
While it looks like King Green’s matchup with Diego Ferreira will be removed from the UFC 319 card, August 16 also recently receive a late addition which means that the event will still feature the originally planned amount of fights.
Khamzat Chimaev’s teammate, Baysangur Susurkaev, put in an impressive performance on Dana White’s Contender Series earlier this week to earn a contract.
Immediately after his win, the undefeated Russian called for a late notice opportunity to compete in Chicago this weekend, and the matchmakers were able to grant his wish.
Susurkaev will now make his UFC debut against CFFC welterweight champion Eric Nolan just four days after becoming a member of the roster.
