UFC 319 is reportedly set to receive an additional bout during fight week following a stunning update.
On Tuesday night, Dana White’s Contender Series returned for its first episode of a new season where an undefeated fighter stole the show.
Baysangur Susurkaev followed up his contract win by calling to fight on UFC 319, with Dana White stating that the promotion’s matchmakers were looking at booking him for the next available card.
His training partner, Khamzat Chimaev, has spoken highly of Susurkaev and it now looks like his wish to make his UFC debut on the same night that his teammate challenges for the middleweight title has been granted.

Baysangur Susurkaev reportedly facing Erin Nolan on four days’ notice at UFC 319
After calling for a fight on UFC 319 and stating that he would be flying to Chicago, a report has stated that the UFC have found a debut opponent for Baysangur Susurkaev.
The undefeated Russian produced a stunning knockout on Dana White’s Contender Series to earn his contract and he’s now set to compete in the first fight of the deal on just four days’ notice.
A post from @zaclikesmma on X states that Susurkaev will face the current Cage Fury Fighting Championships, or CFFC, welterweight champion Eric Nolan.
Nolan has an 8-3 record, having last competed in May where he won the title by stopping Blayne Richards in the opening round.
With Susurkaev fighting at middleweight, it seems at this time that Nolan will be moving up a weight class for this matchup, which would seemingly make it possible for him to accept this bout on such short notice.

Dana White was massively impressed by Baysangur Susurkaev on the Contender Series
Due to the rest of the first episode not delivering many highlights, Dana White was incredibly thankful to Baysangur Susurkaev for his impressive performance.
The UFC boss claimed that it had saved his night and even went as far as to put a post up on his Instagram story singing the fighter’s praises once again.
Clearly the UFC matchmakers were so impressed by Susurkaev, that they gave themselves a late assignment to try and match him for August 16.
Remarkably, they were able to pull it off, giving the undefeated fighter the opportunity to drastically raise his stock by stepping inside the Octagon for a second time this week.
