Somebody’s bound to get knocked out in Geoff Neal vs. Carlos Prates.
We’re days away from the biggest fight of the year between champion Dricus du Plessis and the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev for the middleweight title at UFC 319.
Also on the main card is an epic welterweight battle between perennial contender Geoff Neal and Brazil’s Carlos Prates, ‘The Fighting Nerds’ star who knocked out four UFC fighters last year alone.
Coming off a near-finish against Ian Machado Garry in April, Prates is a sizable betting favorite to beat Neal this Saturday.
One top welterweight contender is going against the grain in his prediction for the ranked matchup.

Sean Brady expects ‘lock’ Geoff Neal to knock out Carlos Prates at UFC 319
Sean Brady, who was the #1 contender before Belal Muhammad lost the title, is confidently backing Neal to hand Prates his first KO loss in the UFC Octagon.
‘Handz of Steel’ has finished the likes of BKFC star Mike Perry, Vicente Luque, and badly bloodied Muhammad for his last three-round loss in 2019.
The #2-ranked Brady thinks Prates is the next to fall.
“This is my, I think Geoff Neal is my lock,” Brady said on the Brady Bagz Show.
“I think he’s gonna knock out Carlos Prates,” Brady added.
“Geoff hits super hard. Carlos doesn’t wrestle to try to negate any of that. And he plays that Muay Thai style where it’s like tit for tat.
“You can’t do that with Geoff Neal. He hits way too hard,” said the top contender.
Southpaw vs. southpaw. Gonna be interesting to see how that plays out. But I think if Carlos Prates lets Geoff Neal dictate the pace and go forward, it’s gonna be a long night for him, for sure.”
Sean Brady is currently waiting on fight news
Sean Brady knows something we don’t.
The 18-1 fighter says he doesn’t have a contract agreement yet, but mentioned he heard back from the UFC on a potential next opponent.
Brady wouldn’t reveal who it was, but there are rumors his return could be against the #3-ranked Shavkat Rakhmonov.
Following his latest submission win over Leon Edwards in March, Brady expressed interest in fighting Ian Machado Garry, who’s ranked four spots below him.
Time will tell who Brady fights next.
