Conor McGregor has hit back at claims he “would not be fit” to hold the office of Irish President, telling politicians he would be the fittest world leader of all time.
Controversial former two-weight UFC champion McGregor is simultaneously attempting to run for the Presidency in Ireland while making an octagon comeback. The election will take place in November, with his return expected on July 4 at the White House in Washington, DC.
And after Irish politician Minister Darragh O’Brien claimed McGregor “would not be fit” to hold the Presidency, McGregor noted he would in fact be the physically fittest President in history.

Conor McGregor vows to be fittest President in history
After Minister O’Brien’s statement, McGregor took to X to release a lengthy reply. He noted that given his history as an elite athlete and his staying in shape without fighting, he would be ‘the fittest President Ireland has ever had.’

“On the contrary,” he wrote. “I’d be the fittest President we have ever had! (and likely of all time in the history of world leaders?) What President/leader has been fitter and more equipped than me in their person? Certainly you’d have to go back to ancient days past, I’d be interested to hear names.
“What former leader/ruler/emperor could keep up with me? None in the modern age and that is a fact. Fear le fear, is mise an fear [man to man, I am the man]! I am the professor in unarmed combat.”
Conor McGregor plans to prove fitness with UFC comeback
Later in the post, McGregor confirmed once again that he plans to compete in the octagon even after being elected President of Ireland. In the unlikely event that he manages to get a nomination and subsequent election, he would have nine months to prepare.
“Scheduled, I also prove my fitness, my confidence, my brilliance above other country leaders today, inside the Worlds truest proving ground, the UFC’s octagon,” he continued. “On the White House lawn. Money – Mouth. There’s no one better suited for this role for you, Ireland. It’s me.
“I have laid out my plans for you, with full transparency. There is, and will be no shock. You have been in full agreement of the plans I have to date, laid bare in complete honesty and forthcomingness before you.
“I will represent Ireland to the greatest of my abilities and with full accountability. Knowing I am now representing you in a different plain than ever before. I will take it with great care. Ireland knows how good I am, and more importantly, how good I can be. As does the world.
“Ireland, the power is so close to being in YOUR HANDS here! I DO LÁMHA [an incorrect Irish translation of the phrase ‘in your hands’]! It s never been this close before. A return to greatness! To the nation our founding fathers gave their young lives for!
“They gave their lives for you to have this power! God and the Holy Spirit has enlightened me and emboldened me to go and make this happen for you. I follow orders. I obey God. Help me bring the power home for you! POWER TO THE PEOPLE! Vótáigh Conchúir Mac Gréagóir.”
