Tom Aspinall welcomes new coach into UFC 321 camp to help breakdown Ciryl Gane’s game

Ahead of his UFC heavyweight title defense against Ciryl Gane at UFC 321, Tom Aspinall has welcomed a new coach into his camp.

On October 25, Tom Aspinall will make the first official defense of his heavyweight title since being upgraded to the undisputed champion following Jon Jones’ retirement.

It was announced by UFC boss Dana White that Ciryl Gane will be the challenger, which didn’t sit well with UFC fans and even Joe Rogan claimed he would’ve picked a different contender for Aspinall.

However, just a few months out from their clash in Abu Dhabi, Aspinall has vowed to get rid of Gane once and for all, considering this will be his third shot at the title.

Aspinall welcomes new coach into his UFC 321 fight camp

The 32-year-old is the current face of British MMA, spearheading the sport over that side of the pond, and he and his father, Andy, have created a heavyweight super camp throughout their time in the UFC.

With MMA still a growing sport in the UK, big gyms are extremely hard to come by, and so Andy instead decided to create his own gym, exclusively of light heavyweight and heavyweight fighters.

And since doing so, Aspinall has looked relatively unbeatable, having the huge benefit of training with big fighters daily.

However, ahead of his fight against the slick kickboxer, Gane, the Brit has welcomed a new coach into his camp to further help with the breakdown of ‘Bon Gamin’.

Stipe Drvis has been added to the super team to help Aspinall with his boxing ahead of October 25.

“Everything is good. I’m the boxing and conditioning (coach), I’m enjoying it. Tom is a very good fighter, the best in the world and I’m glad we are working with him doing boxing. He’s very fast and explosive, unbelievable for this weight,” Drvis said on Aspinall’s recent YouTube upload.

Drvis is the coach of newly signed UFC heavyweight Ante Delija, who has been part of Aspinall’s camp for over a year now.

Gane’s coach warns Aspinall over potential embarrassment

Ahead of their fight, Gane and Aspinall have seemingly remained respectful of each other and each other’s skills.

However, Gane’s coach has warned Aspinall of potential embarrassment considering the Brit claimed he is going to get rid of Gane once and for all.
