Ahead of his middleweight title defense at UFC 319, Dricus Du Plessis has been sent a warning by one of his biggest rivals.
In just over a week’s time, the premier promotion returns to Chicago for UFC 319, headlined by a middleweight title fight between Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev.
The fight has been a long time coming considering ‘Stillknocks’ asked to fight Chimaev following his UFC 305 title defense against Israel Adesanya, however, visa issues seemingly delayed the fight from happening sooner.
And with their fight now just around the corner, the South African has been sent a warning by former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad.

Du Plessis sent warning by Belal Muhammad as feud continues
Ever since his debut in the promotion, Du Plessis has been regarded as quite a controversial fighter because of his personality and extremely unique fight style.
And over that time, he has feuded with several stars in the promotion, including former 170lb king, ‘Remember The Name’ Muhammad.
When Muhammad was reigning over the welterweight division, he continuously hinted at a future move up to middleweight to take on ‘Stillknocks’, which ignited their feud.
When Muhammad lost his title to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315, Du Plessis brutally trolled him soon after, getting his own back on the Chicagoan.
Despite having lost his title earlier this year, Muhammad has audaciously offered to fight the winner of Du Plessis vs Chimaev, which is extremely unlikely.
And with the fight taking place in Muhammad’s hometown, he will likely be in attendance at the event and has sent Du Plessis a warning message.
“Bro, this is my city, it’s a big card next week, a huge main event, if you need anything in Chicago, food, groceries, therapists, cage, gym, sauna – make sure you don’t hit me up, you’re not welcome here,” Muhammad said in a video on his YouTube channel.
“Chicago, if you see him, let him know we don’t like his kind. Go Khamzat,” the former champion continued.
Will Belal Muhammad move up to 185lbs?
After putting his name in the hat to fight the winner, Muhammad may be planning to permanently move up to middleweight, especially after losing his title earlier this year.
But before he is considered for a title fight, he will likely have to beat several middleweight contenders first with there being other contenders ahead of him in the queue.
