Forever a rival of UFC leader, Dana White, boxing icon Oscar De La Hoya has rekindled his rivalry with the former amid the health issues of Octagon veteran Ben Askren.
De La Hoya, who heads up Golden Boy Promotions, has forever been linked with his rivalry with UFC boss, White since his retirement from boxing — jibing at the long-time leader endlessly over the years.

And amid the recent health issues of Ben Askren, which saw him require a double lung transplant, De La Hoya has goaded White once more.

Taking a chance to hit out at White once more, De La Hoya spoke candidly about the former’s soon-to-launch TKO Boxing league later this year.
Set to promote Canelo Alvarez’s blockbuster fight with Terence Crawford, White has come under fire from the former world champion, who pointed to Askren’s recent bid to raise funds for his life-saving medical procedure.
“This new league TKO is planning to pay fighters whatever they want, which will likely be pennies on the dollar based on the existing UFC model,” De La Hoya told WorldBoxingNews.
“The latest heartbreaking example is former UFC fighter Ben Askren, who needed a double lung transplant and couldn’t afford it.
“They don’t give a f— about boxing, or fighters, or putting their lives on the line,” De La Hoya continued. “They care about their bottom line and their stock price.”

However, UFC CEO, White, has gone on the record to back his assistance to Askren, who fought three times during his brief stint in the Octagon — ending back in 2019.
Reacting to news of Askren’s health battle and medical bills, Dana White revealed he actually donated money to the amateur wrestling ace.
“Yeah. I usually don’t talk about that stuff. But yes, I did [donate money to Ben Askren],” White told assembled media after UFC Fight Night Nashville.
“I did. We reached out to his wife as soon as we heard, and told her if there’s anything else you need, and yes, I did. I did. Yeah, I did. Yes.”
