‘Get him out of the Apex’ … UFC fans react to thrilling ‘fight of the year’ at UFC Vegas 108

One of the best UFC fights of 2025 took place without a crowd.

UFC Vegas 108 went down on Saturday night from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Topping off the 12-fight card was a five-round flyweight fight between top contender Tatsuro Taira and the undefeated Hyun Sung Park.

The undercard featured a number of prospects and veterans, with perennial contender Neil Magny tying the record for second-most wins in UFC history and Diego Lopes’ teammate Austin Bashi improving to 14-1 in his first UFC win.

Towards the end of the night, two lightweights threw down in a fight of the year contender.

Fans want Esteban Ribovics out of the UFC Apex for good after another winning three-round war

Argentina’s Esteban Ribovics improved to 15-2 on Saturday night with a near-finish of lightweight Elves Brener.

Ribovics and Brener each landed 123 strikes across three rounds of back-and-forth action. Ribovics outlanded Brener by four strikes in the significant strike totals, taking home the hard-fought unanimous decision win.

Before they went to the judges scorecards, the lightweights left it all on the line in the final seconds of the fight, standing and trading shots until the bell sounded.

This is hardly Ribovics’ first rodeo as the UFC star won another fight of the year contender from the Sphere at UFC 306 last September.

Fans were upset to see a fighter as exciting as him in the crowdless UFC Apex for a second time this year.

“Ribovics is one of the most fun fighters in the UFC. Get him OUT of the Apex,” one fan wrote on X.

“Esteban Ribovics needs to fight in front of a crowd the rest of his career and not the Apex. Guy brings it every single time,” another fan added.

“The fights and fighters are great. They should be fighting in an arena,” another fan said.

“FOTY contender. Probably not big enough stakes and the Apex hurt that one. But holy s—,” a fan said of Ribovics vs. Brener.

The UFC Vegas 108 co-main event was just as entertaining

The fans were treated to back-to-back fight of the year contenders this weekend.

In the co-main event of the evening, Poland’s Mateusz Rebecki went to war with Scotland’s Chris Duncan.

Like the fight before, Rebecki and Duncan went all three rounds, battering each other’s faces. Both fighters left the Octagon with massive swelling and cuts around their eyes.

Duncan got his hand raised by unanimous decision.
