UFC returns to Las Vegas just one week after their last event with an exciting card featuring two top ten Middleweights in the main event on August 9.
A week after UFC Vegas 108 comes to town, Dana White is bringing the promotion back to Sin City for a big show at the UFC Apex.
UFC Vegas 109 sees two top ten Middleweights duking it out in the main event, as Roman Dolidze battles Anthony Hernandez in an attempt by each man to claw their way to a future title shot by climbing up the ranks with a win here.
Here is everything you need to know about UFC Vegas 109.

Roman Dolidze vs. Anthony Hernandez
The main event of UFC Vegas 109 sees two top-ten ranked Middleweights attempting to cement themselves as title contenders on August 9.
Hernandez has picked up some huge steam in recent years, remaining unbeaten since 2021 as he picked up seven wins in a row to climb the UFC rankings.
A recent win over Brendan Allen moved him up to #10 in the rankings, and a victory over the #9-ranked Dolidze could see him leapfrog the Georgian to move closer to a shot at Dricus du Plessis’ title.
However, Dolidze will be a tough opponent, having won his last three fights, including a five-round decision victory over Marvin Vettori in March’s main event fight.
This should be a close fight that will have huge implications for the Middleweight division in the future.
Iasmin Lucindo vs. Angela Hill
The co-main event of UFC Vegas 109 is a Women’s Strawweight fight between two fighters who will want to earn themselves a shot at Zhang Weili’s title in the near future.
Iasmin Lucindo is currently ranked #8 in the Women’s Strawweight division, owing to recent victories over Marina Rodriguez and Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
However, the #12-ranked Angela Hill will be aware of Lucindo’s recent loss to Amanda Lemos at UFC 313.
The veteran fighter may have one more run at the top and will need to use all her experience to take down the Brazilian in Las Vegas on August 9.
Andre Fili vs. Christian Rodriguez
Christian Rodriguez is at somewhat of a crossroads at UFC Vegas 109, with his fight against Andre Fili being a must-win for “CeeRod”.
The American fighter has lost three and won five of his fights since debuting in the UFC, with only one win in his last three fights.
He certainly has the potential to become a top name in the division, but it is quickly becoming more and more unlikely as he adds more losses to his record.
Overcoming the veteran Fili is imperative if he wants his career to kick on, although a loss could spell the end of his UFC journey.
Miles Johns vs. Jean Matsumoto
Miles Johns returns to Bantamweight after a Featherweight loss to take on Jean Matsumoto in Las Vegas on August 9.
The 15-4 fighter has an impressive MMA record so far, although he has struggled to string together the wins needed to light him up the rankings towards a title shot.
He will be somewhat confident in taking on a much less experienced Jean Matsumoto at UFC Vegas 109, a man who has a spotty 2-1 record since debuting in the promotion.
Eryk Anders vs. Christian Leroy Duncan
The final fight on the main card of UFC Vegas 109 sees Eryk Anders and Christian Leroy Duncan battle it out in a Middleweight contest.
Journeyman Anders has spent nearly a decade in the UFC with eight losses to his name, having struggled to secure a title fight during his time in the promotion.
He faces Duncan, who has a similarly mixed record since debuting in 2023, and who will be the favorite to win this fight in the UFC Apex.
Prelims
Four fights have been announced to take place on the prelims, including two women’s bouts.
These see Joselyne Edwards battle Priscila Cachoeira in a Women’s Bantamweight fight, while Gabrielle Fernandes and Julija Stoliarenko duke it out in a Women’s Flyweight contest.
Elsewhere, Julius Walker challenged Light Heavyweight Raffael Certqueira, and in the Bantamweight division, Elijah Smith takes on Toshiomi Kazama.
