UFC Vegas 108 star almost ripped opponent’s head off in 2022 with the ‘most brutal guillotine’ of all time

This UFC Vegas 108 fighter almost took an opponent’s head home with him while recording his best win to date.

MMA’s leading promotion is back at home base to kick off its August schedule, with the next two events set to take place at the Apex before the Octagon returns to Chicago for UFC 319: Dricus du Plessis vs. Khamzat Chimaev.

Tasked with filling the main event spot on August 2 are two of Asia’s best flyweights, as No. 6-ranked contender Tatsuro Taira of Japan defends his position on the ladder against late-notice replacement opponent Hyun Sung Park of South Korea.

The lineup doesn’t boast the same name value as recent UFC Fight Nights in Nashville and Abu Dhabi. But a number of fighters competing still have histories of creating highlights inside the cage, and none are more vicious than what ‘Mr. Vicious’ himself produced at the Apex three years ago.

Tresean Gore put Josh Fremd out with a gruesome guillotine at UFC Vegas 63

UFC Vegas 63 in 2022 ended on a disappointing note when a Calvin Kattar injury against Arnold Allen ended their main event prematurely. But there were still a number of impressive performances to digest in the aftermath, from Roman Dolidze knocking out Phil Hawes to ‘The Iron Turtle’ Jun Yong Park submitting Joseph Holmes.

But when it came to the brutality scale, there was no doubt who triumphed in that department.

Tresean Gore defeated Josh Fremd on the main card with a submission so frightening that even the most hardcore of MMA enthusiasts were likely left wincing at how ‘Mr. Vicious’ ended the fight.

After two losses to kick off his UFC career, the pressure was on Gore, who was a finalist on The Ultimate Fighter in 2022. The 31-year-old delivered the exact statement-making performance that was required by locking in a guillotine choke seconds into round two.

The tension on Fremd’s neck was brutal to watch, and the way his head hit the canvas after the choke put him out cold was equally scary.

Fans crowned Tresean Gore’s win the ‘most brutal guillotine’ ever

The MMA community was left in awe of Gore’s vicious submission, with many fans calling it the most brutal guillotine choke ever seen inside the Octagon.

“That has to be the most brutal guillotine I’ve ever seen. Wow.”

“What an insane choke.”

“As brutal of a guillotine choke as you’ll see.”

“Whew… that looked a little long on the hold. Ref pressed his luck there.”

“Yikes, that was a brutal guillotine!!!”

“Tresean Gore nearly ripped Josh Fremd’s head off.”

“Tresean Gore tried to turn Josh Fremd into a giraffe with that guillotine choke. Mister Vicious indeed. WHEW.”

Some also debated Gore’s release of the hold, after he was accused of “slamming” Fremd’s head on the canvas as he was rendered unconscious.

“He didn’t slam his head. There was just so much tension from him forcing his chin to his chest in the guillotine choke when he released his head/neck snapped back to where it should’ve been.”

“This choke made a lot of people a fan, the slam at the end made even more people an enemy.”

“Wonderful sportsmanship on a fighter that was unconscious.”

“Definitely not thinking about your opponent’s safety with that.”

“Why let his head bash the canvas like that.”
