The UFC’s light heavyweight division has been home to some of the best fighters and biggest stars of all time.
Dominick Reyes is one of the few fighters who can say that he has shared the Octagon with the man that many consider to be the greatest of all time.
Not only that, a lot of people still believe that he deserved to win that fight with Reyes still going back and forth with Jon Jones five years on from their light heavyweight title fight.
After suffering four consecutive losses that nearly derailed his career, ‘The Devastator’ has been able to turn things around.
Ahead of Reyes’ huge next fight that could finally see him climb back into the title picture, he was tasked with naming the best fighters that have ever competed in the UFC’s 205 pound division.

Dominick Reyes explains why Daniel Cormier doesn’t make his light heavyweight Mount Rushmore over four former champions
For some time, the UFC’s light heavyweight division was home to a lot of the promotion’s top stars, before many of them were beaten by Jon Jones.
Despite their history from UFC 247, Dominick Reyes unsurprisingly jumped right to ‘Bones’ when he was asked on the Pound 4 Pound podcast for his Mount Rushmore of UFC light heavyweights.
Jones’ spot is undeniable following his track record at 205 pounds, but there is certainly room for debate when trying to fill the other spots.
For a lot of people, the obvious second selection would be Daniel Cormier, who also achieved great things in the weight class despite being around at the same time as Jones.

Reyes surprisingly didn’t name ‘DC’ as one of his four selections and instead chose to cater his list towards some of the earlier stars that defined the division.
“The GOAT is Jon. I’m going to put Forrest [Griffin] up there because [of] what he did for the sport and the division in general. Chuck [Liddell]. You gotta go Chuck… I’m going to have to go Randy [Couture] and Tito [Ortiz] kind of interchangeable.”
When questioned by Kamaru Usman about Cormier’s absence from the list, Reyes revealed why he chose to go with three former champions that came before the Hall of Famer.
“I feel like Cormier, he’s a great fighter, don’t get me wrong, but it was a different time. Who did he defend his belt against?… I have a great respect for Daniel, but I’m saying all time, that’s my list and it’s opinion based.”

Dominick Reyes picks himself as the most underrated fighter on the UFC roster
Dominick Reyes wouldn’t name who he believes is the most overrated fighter in the UFC and struggled to come up with a pick for the most underrated.
He believes that these terms don’t take into account so many other factors, using himself as an example of how recency bias can completely change how someone is viewed.
“It might be me, but then they could have called me the most overrated at one point. See, because it’s all circumstances.
However, Reyes did eventually put his name forward, stating that the two men that are above him in the current light heavyweight rankings at #7 and #6 are currently riding three-fight losing streaks while he’s won three in a row.
“I’ll just say I’m the most underrated right now. Let’s just say that.”
