Conor McGregor has shared a series of posts that indicate he is getting serious about his return to the octagon.
The Irishman hasn’t fought in the UFC since the summer of 2021 when he suffered a broken leg against Dustin Poirier, and appears to be enjoying his life away from fighting. But he appears to have been moved by the idea of competing at the White House next year, and has begun the process of returning to action.
McGregor was due to fight last summer in the main event of UFC 303 against Michael Chandler. But a broken toe cost him that bout, and no new date has since emerged for his return, while Chandler has fought and lost twice.

Conor McGregor shows off visit from testers as he returns to UFC drug testing pool
Since announcing his intention to return next year at the White House, Conor McGregor has come in for scrutiny from fight fans who have been stung too many times before. The key issue seemed to be a lack of recorded drug tests at all this year, or since his cancelled Chandler fight.
But late on Tuesday night, he shared a series of bizarre videos and photos in which he can be seen having blood taken and even giving a urine sample to testers. He had a number of captions to go along with these posts, indicating that he is fit and ready to fight.
“I gave my first blood test that is what the plaster is on my shoulder,” McGregor captioned a video of himself breathing into the camera while Black Sabbath’s ‘Changes’ plays in the background. “I am ECSTATIC! I’m in SHAPE! #illtakeyourheadoffforreal #fullgrown @ufc #TheBig20.”
On his Instagram story, he shared a photo of a blood testing kit, as well as photos of his urine and blood being taken. “I p— excellence,” he declared while showing off a cup of his sample. “Blood tester on my yacht,” he said in a follow up, before adding: “Blood from the shoulder.”
Conor McGregor will meet with Dana White in Italy as he plots UFC return
It has been years since Conor McGregor and Dana White have seen each other in person, but it seems that may change in the coming days. The pair are reuniting during their respective visits to Italy, which seem to overlap.

On Thursday, White shared a video of him holding a gift McGregor had sent him—a box of his own ‘Notorious Cigars’ line. “Thank you @thenotoriousmma,” White wrote on his Instagram story. “See you in Italy.”
It is unclear if the meeting has already happened or if the pair still plan on doing it. But it is known that McGregor has been actively pushing both on camera and behind the scenes to make his long-awaited return at the White House.
