Conor McGregor led a host of major celebrity names to celebrate Dana White’s birthday on social media today.
The UFC CEO turned 56, and was met with countless messages of support from fans, fighters, politicians and celebrities alike. He is a popular figure with fight fans and particularly influencers, who flocked to send celebratory messages.
And no name was bigger than the former two-division champion McGregor, who shared multiple posts to his Instagram story. The pair are currently in talks over his planned return next summer which could happen on the promotion’s massive card at the White House.

Conor McGregor and other stars pay tribute to Dana White for 56th birthday
Conor McGregor has at times had a rocky relationship with UFC CEO Dana White, but he always publicly shows respect for the man who signed him over a decade ago. The Irishman is the biggest star in MMA history, and led the birthday messages from a host of big names for his boss.

He shared a photo of the pair at a press conference for his 2017 fight with Floyd Mayweather alongside the caption: “Happy birthday my mentor, Dana White.” He also tagged White’s side business Power Slap and his recurring show Dana White’s Contender Series.
McGregor immediately shared a second message, which White reposted, showing the UFC supremo visiting his pub The Black Forge Inn last year. White was in Dublin to promote Callum Walsh’s homecoming at the 3Arena, and stopped by the pub for a brief visit.
Conor McGregor and Dana White have Italian meeting planned for comeback talks
It has been a while since McGregor and White sat down for formal talks, but there are plans in place for that to change. The pair are both in Italy in the coming days, and have intentions to have a meeting where they may discuss the Irishman’s octagon return.
Ahead of his potential comeback after what will be five years out of the octagon, McGregor sent White a gift. He shipped him a package of his new cigars, which are being rolled out around the world in the coming weeks.
On Thursday, White shared a video of him holding the present on his Instagram story, writing: “Thank you @thenotoriousmma.” He also teased something else, adding: “See you in Italy,” indicating that crunch talks may be on the way.
