Eddie Hall’s feud with Thor Bjornsson is so heated that the Brit wants absolutely no part of his rival, even if it means getting revenge in the ring or cage.
The pair famously fought in Dubai three years ago, with the gigantic 6’9 Game of Thrones star coming out on top after each man had floored the other. It was a massive hit online, but neither man was fully paid – an issue for which Hall blames his rival.
After the fact, the Brit has continued to fight, winning his debut in KSW earlier this year. Hall brutally knocked out five-time former World’s Strongest Man winner Mariusz Pudzianowski within seconds, and is now eyeing his next move in the ring or cage.

Eddie Hall doesn’t want a business relationship with Thor Bjornsson
Despite the obvious box office draw of another fight between the two, Eddie Hall and Thor Bjornsson both seem relatively uninterested in a second bout. And speaking with Bloody Elbow earlier this year, the Brit explained that their feud runs so deep that he couldn’t complete the necessary business endeavors.
“I think it’s done,” Hall told Bloody Elbow before his MMA debut back in April. “We had our discrepancies, he had a sore loser moment where he couldn’t take a loss and we had a fight about it. Unfortunately the wrong man won in that circumstance but I got to punch the man in the face which for me was a delight.
“He’s gone back to strongman because he’s got nothing going for him so let him crack on. I don’t think he’ll ever come back to do the rematch so let him crack on. I’m done with that f—ing d—head…
“I think doing business or doing sport with a man that you hate that much is a bad idea and I just feel there were such bad omens.
“We didn’t get paid for that fight! It was meant to be $1million each and it all just fell through. I think a lot of that was people just being f—-ies and wanting guaranteed money and not relying on pay-per-views and I think he was a big brunt of that problem.
“Just doing business with that man? I don’t want to do it. There was just too much hatred there and there still is and it’s not a good idea to do business, which is what the fight game is, with someone you hate that much.”
Eddie Hall reacts as Thor Bjornsson breaks his legendary 500kg deadlift record
Despite the bitter feud between the pair as Hall admitted during our interview, he was classy in his response as Bjornsson broke his deadlift record over the weekend. For years, 500kg, or 1102.3lb was the record lift in strongman history, but the Icelandic star broke that as he pulled 505kg or 1104.5lb.
“Massive respect to Thor for making history & setting the official WR at 505kg,” Hall wrote on Instagram after seeing the video of his rival’s achievement. “That’s one hell of a pull. Records are made to be broken. Big respect, Big Love.”
Thor supposedly outdid him with a 501kg (1104.5lbs) pull during coronavirus lockdowns in 2020. However, many people questioned the validity of the deadlift as it took place outside of competition in a private gym and Hall never recognized it as a real victory.
The 6ft 9in Icelandic giant left no doubt about his 505kg lift by doing it at the Eisenhart Black Competition, which is an elite, invite-only strength contest held every July in Bavaria.
