Eddie Hall’s famous deadlift record has been officially broken by his greatest rival.
The former ‘World’s Strongest Man’ took an L when he boxed Thor Bjornsson in March 2022.
Three years later, Eddie Hall is an MMA fighter, and his nemesis has started competing in strongman competitions again.
‘The Mountain’ set a new world record by deadlifting 505kg (1113.3lbs) in Germany on Saturday.

Eddie Hall reacts to Thor Bjornsson’s world record deadlift
Hall originally set a world record when he hoisted 500kg (1102.3lbs) at the 2016 World Deadlift Championships.
Thor outdid him with a 501kg (1104.5lbs) pull in 2020. However, many people questioned the validity of the deadlift as it took place outside of competition in a private gym.
The 6ft 9in Icelandic giant left no doubt about his 505kg lift by doing it at the Eisenhart Black Competition, which is an elite, invite-only strength contest held every July in Bavaria.
Hall kept it classy after finding out that his deadlift world record had officially been broken.
On Sunday morning, the 38-year-old put aside their rivalry to send a congratulatory message to Bjornsson.
“Massive respect to Thor for making history & setting the official WR at 505kg,” Hall wrote on Instagram.
“That’s one hell of a pull. Records are made to be broken.
“Big respect, Big Love.”
Eddie Hall’s next MMA fight
Eddie Hall knocked out five-time ‘World’s Strongest Man’ Mariusz Pudzianowski in 30 seconds in April.
Since his MMA debut, the Englishman has been linked to a super fight with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
Conor McGregor, Brock Lesnar, and Dillon Danis also feature on Hall’s hit list of potential opponents.
First things first, he’s got unfinished business with Pudzianowski and KSW, who promoted their fight.
Hall admits he’s already signed a contract for his next fight, which will take place later this year.
“There is a two-fight deal [with KSW],” he said in May.
“The second fight is meant to be a rematch with Mariusz Pudzianowski. Potentially in November.”
It’s now just a matter of waiting to see if the 48-year-old Pudzianowski takes the rematch or decides to retire instead.
