Bryce Mitchell doesn’t love being compared to former middleweight champion Sean Strickland.
The American duo are two of the wackiest and most outspoken fighters on the UFC roster in 2025.
‘Thug Nasty’ read a Bible verse after winning his bantamweight debut at UFC Abu Dhabi on Saturday night.
Post-fight, Bryce Mitchell was asked what he makes of people comparing him to Sean Strickland.

Bryce Mitchell shuts down Sean Strickland comparisons
Mitchell understands why people liken him to Strickland, but insists he is a much friendlier person.
“I think there’s similarities, but I try to be overwhelmingly nice,” he said.
“If you can’t tell how much I love you, bro, you ain’t paying attention.
“I go outta my way to tell people how much I love them.
“I don’t ever try to disrespect anybody. If I do disrespect somebody, I really ain’t trying to.
“I think I’m a little bit nicer than he is. I mean, that’s just what I think, I don’t know.
“I’ve heard that before, but I think what separates me is how much I care about people.
“I really do. I care about all you guys. I love all you guys. I pray for all you guys.
“You mean a lot to me, so I hope that you know that.”
Bryce Mitchell eyes Umar Nurmagomedov for next fight
After beating Said Nurmagomedov, Mitchell set his sights on a top contender with the same last name.
Umar Nurmagomedov hasn’t fought since breaking his hand during a title fight loss at UFC 311.
Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s cousin fell short over five rounds against Merab Dvalishvili in January.
Mitchell is more than willing to welcome him back to the Octagon later this year.
“I think that would be a pretty damn good fight,” he said about Nurmagomedov.
“Hell, why not? I already fought one of them, let’s just fight all the Nurmagomedovs that there is.”
