The ball is in Charles Oliveira’s court after an offer from a top lightweight contender.
It’s nearly been a month since Ilia Topuria emerged the new UFC Lightweight Champion of the world. Topuria took the vacant throne with a brutal first-round knockout of beloved former champ Charles Oliveira at UFC 317.
The loss to Topuria brings Oliveira to 2-3 in his last five fights, with many wondering where the 35-year-old goes from here.

Dan Hooker calls out Charles Oliveira: ‘Someone wake up Charlie Olives’
Thought of as a potential challenger for Max Holloway’s BMF title, battle born lightweight contender Dan Hooker eyes Oliveira, who’s higher in the rankings.
The #6-ranked Hooker is coming off an impressive decision win over Mateusz Gamrot and a recent fight cancellation against Justin Gaethje, having to withdraw from UFC 313 in March due to a broken hand.
It seems Hooker will be all good to go for the fall, calling out the former champ Oliveira after his knockout loss.
“Someone wake up Charlie Olives and tell him we fighting in November,” Hooker wrote on X.
Hooker is currently on a three-fight win streak.
Dan Hooker says Arman Tsarukyan ‘can get it too’
Oliveira isn’t the only contender Hooker is aiming for.
Hooker has long talked about fighting the #1-ranked Arman Tsarukyan, who was supposed to fight for the title earlier this year, but had to withdraw due to a back injury.
Hooker trolled Tsarukyan, saying ‘daddy couldn’t buy you a backbone’ after his withdrawal.
After calling out Oliveira, Hooker made it clear he’d still fight Tsarukyan.
“On a side note Arman’s a b—- and he can get it too, daddy’s home,” Hooker wrote on X.
