Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed what he would change in the UFC if he replaced boss Dana White for just 24 hours.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time, not only because of his achievements in the sport, but because of the knowledge he continues to pass down to the next generation.
After shockingly retiring from fighting in 2020 after a comprehensive win over Justin Gaethje, Khabib turned his attention to coaching, continuing his late father’s legacy.
And now, ‘The Eagle’ of Dagestan is one of the best coaches in the sport, coaching the likes of Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov to achieve their goals in the UFC.

Khabib agrees with Joe Rogan rule change as he plays UFC president
The Dagestani has always had a very strong relationship with the UFC and in particular UFC boss Dana White and even in his retirement, Khabib has kept up his relationship with White.
Nurmagomedov recently admitted that he still talks to White regularly, and often gives his opinion on things that they could change in the promotion.
And with that, Khabib has revealed what he would change if he replaced Dana White as the UFC boss for a day.
“I’d change the rules,” Khabib told Adam Zubayraev on the Hustle Show.
“Like, you step into the Octagon – regular fights are 15 minutes, title fights are 25, right? I’d say no rounds. No rounds at all. I always wondered – what’s the point of rounds? What’s the point of it all? It’s for entertainment, they pause for ads and all of that.
“I get it – it’s for business. But if we’re talking sport, I’d get rid of rounds, no rounds at all. They just step in – that’s it. There should be rules, no strikes to the back of the head, no groin strikes, that sort of thing, yeah but I’d still get rid of rounds,” he continued.
Joe Rogan once suggested a similar rule change
UFC commentator Joe Rogan has suggested some whacky rule changes in the past, including removing the cage and replacing it with a Basketball court.
However, he once pitched a similar idea to Khabib that the next round starts where the previous round finished, benefitting fighters with grappling heavy fight styles.
He was then quickly convinced by Royce Gracie that a fight without rounds would make more sense, which is exactly what Khabib would like to see changed in the UFC.
Although it may seem like a bizarre change to make, there have been several formats in the past that have adopted a similar style.
