UFC 318 star issues response after fans turn on him for controversial post-fight interview

UFC middleweight contender Brendan Allen has issued a bold response to the fanbase after they heavily criticized him for his UFC 318 post-fight interview.

UFC middleweights Brendan Allen and Marvin Vettori have had a huge feud that has been brewing ever since they clashed in a casino in Las Vegas last year.

They finally got the chance to fight inside the Octagon this Saturday at UFC 318, and Allen went on to pick up the unanimous decision win as both fighters took home Fight of the Night.

Following his win, Allen paid tribute to Vettori’s late brother, attempting to finally put their rivalry aside and show respect to Vettori and his family.

Allen issues response to fans after they turn on him for interview

Despite ‘All-in’ Allen’s attempt to squash any issues between him and ‘The Italian Dream’, a portion of the fanbase turned on Allen as he continued to go after one of Vettori’s coaches.

And with that, Allen issued a controversial response to fans in a post on social media, saying: “Yo, for everyone talking s— about my post-fight interview, it was never a mock towards Marvin, as I told Marvin to his face, I have respect for him and his family, I can’t imagine the pain they feel.

“I never meant any disrespect… So for everyone saying I was mocking him, it never was that and f— you if that’s how you feel, it’s f—– to even say that.”

During his post-fight interviews, Allen spoke about his own brother, who was in attendance at one of his fights for the first time.

Allen’s brother was involved in an accident of his own and the 29-year-old middleweight stated that he brought him back to life with CPR, with his brother now in a wheelchair following the accident.

What’s next for Brendan Allen following UFC 318 win?

With his win over the former title challenger, Allen successfully returned to the win column after disappointing back-to-back losses.

Following the updating of the rankings, Allen will likely find himself in the top 10 of the 185lb division, knocking on the door of the top five finally.

And with that, a fight against someone like Jared Cannonier next could make sense for both parties.
