With UFC 318 in the books, some figures have been released regarding each fighter’s salaries.
Five fighters received bonuses on July 19 following some statement wins in New Orleans.
Along with Carli Judice, Islam Dulatov earned a performance of the night bonus on his UFC debut, as did Ateba Gautier for his 70-second KO.
While Max Holloway vented his frustrations after being snubbed for the fight of the night award, which was given to Brendan Allen and Marvin Vettori, he still topped a pay out list.
UFC 318 promotional guidelines compliance salaries revealed as Max Holloway takes home a champion’s payout
The UFC’s promotional guidelines compliance salaries grants members of the roster additional financial rewards for various fight-week obligations like media attendances and outfitting policies.
As seen at UFC 318, the program operates on a tier system, meaning that fighters who have competed more times for the promotion earn more over time.
It’s also set in the guidelines that champions earn a set amount of $42,000, while title challengers take home $32,000, as seen below.
Number of UFC or Zuffa-era WEC and Strikeforce bouts | Payment received |
1-3 | $4,000 |
4-5 | $4,500 |
6-10 | $6000 |
11-15 | $11,000 |
16-20 | $16,000 |
21 + | $21,000 |
Title challenger | £32,000 |
Champion | $42,000 |
As a result, as shown in the figures listed by MMA Junkie, Max Holloway tops the list after headlining the event in a defense of his BMF title.
Aside from Dustin Poirier, his challenger, the next highest earners were UFC veterans Kevin Holland and Michael Johnson, who both earned $21,000 because they’re over the 21 bouts or more threshold.
Marvin Vettori, Brendan Allen and Dan Ige all fall in the 16-20 fights mark while every other competitor came in at lower tiers, with eight fighters, including Patricio Pitbull, making the minimum of $4,000.

The UFC 318 prelims unsurprisingly wrapped up all of the post-fight bonuses
While the main card produced two fights in particular that were certainly in the running to win fight of the night, every post-fight bonus at UFC 318 went to prelim bouts.
The promotion’s long-awaited return to New Orleans certainly delivered early on with the first six fights ending in finishes, five of which were in the first round.
Unfortunately, the finishes dried up after this point with the final eight fights all going to the scorecards, though there were still plenty of highlights.
