Michael Chandler’s ears perked up following some recent comments from his rival.
While Chandler may be coming toward the end of his UFC career, there is still one score that he wants to settle inside the Octagon.
He’s still yet to face off with Conor McGregor after their scheduled matchup at UFC 303 fell through due to an injury to the Irishman.
However, despite the fact that he hasn’t competed in four years, McGregor has recently been teasing a comeback for next year’s UFC event at the White House.
Chandler was quick to respond to McGregor’s comments after ‘The Notorious’ shared an AI-generated image of the two men facing off with President Donald Trump standing in the background.
Fans slam Michael Chandler for continuing to call out Conor McGregor
While Michael Chandler understandably feels like there is unfinished business between him and Conor McGregor, a lot have fans have made their feelings on the matter clear.
It has been a consistent theme and criticism during the past several years of his career that he’s never going to stop chasing a fight that may never happen.
Chandler’s decision to wait for ‘The Notorious’ to return rather than staying active was a huge talking point and after suffering back-to-back losses once he finally stepped back inside the Octagon, it doesn’t appear to have been worth it for ‘Iron’ Mike.

His latest post targeted at the Irishman made reference to some news headlines that the former UFC champ-champ recently generated following some unfortunate social media posts that McGregor has since made light of.
The reaction from the fans doesn’t seem to be the one that Chandler would have hoped for following further backlash about chasing after the biggest star in the sport.
‘Bro it’s 2025 and still begging.’
‘McGregor retired like half a decade ago.’
‘My mannnnnnn hahaha.’
‘No way HAHAHAAH.’
‘THIS CAN’T BE REAL.’
‘Brother why would you tweet this.’
‘Bro enough, let it go…’
Michael Chandler isn’t planning on returning to the Octagon any time soon
After losing his last three fights, Michael Chandler’s next outing inside the Octagon will be absolutely crucial in regards to the future of his career.
‘Iron’ Mike doesn’t appear to be rushing this process following his loss to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314, having recently told The Schmo that returning isn’t on his mind right now.
“Nothing is scheduled. No names on the table. No dates on the table. “I told [UFC], don’t call me till at least the fall…”
“As far as actually stepping back in the Octagon, probably not till the end of the year, if not the first of next year.”
