‘Best women’s fighter on the planet’ targets Khabib Nurmagomedov-esque career as calls for UFC move continue

PFL star Dakota Ditcheva is intent on keeping her undefeated record intact all the way to a legendary record that can rival Khabib Nurmagomedov’s perfect run.

Ditcheva has continued to prove that her hype is warranted since breaking through under the PFL banner in recent years. The striking specialist first established herself as a prospect to watch in showcase bouts before dominating the competition to win the inaugural PFL Europe flyweight title in 2023.

That result secured ‘Dangerous’ a spot in the global season last year, something she made the most of by tearing through her competition.

Most recently, Ditcheva decimated Taila Santos to win $1 million and deal a blow to her doubters. The Brazilian exited the UFC as a top-five contender and was widely believed to have deserved the nod over Valentina Shevchenko in their controversial title fight.

With that, no one has managed to crack Ditcheva’s brutal stand-up puzzle and ever-improving grappling game to date. And the rising American Top Team-trained star does not foresee that changing.

PFL’s Dakota Ditcheva will not accept that defeat is inevitable

During a recent interview with Uncrowned, Ditcheva previewed her long-awaited first fight of 2025, which comes against Sumiko Inaba at the PFL Cape Town event on Saturday, July 19.

The always confident Brit firmly expects to leave South Africa with another victory added to her unblemished record. And unlike many who downplay the importance of staying undefeated, Ditcheva holds her ‘0’ in high regard.

“People always say there’ll always be someone there who can beat you, but, who says? Why do people say that?” Ditcheva said. “Why accept you’re going to get beat at one point? That’s not the mentality you should have.”

With that in mind, the 26-year-old is setting her sights on a lofty feat: surpassing the legendary run of Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“If you get beat, it happens. But that’s not something I think about. I think about staying undefeated (and going to) 15-0, 30-0, 60-0.

“I’m not thinking about one loss on my record. Hell, no. It’s not going to happen for me,” Ditcheva added.

Fans have continued to call for UFC to pursue Dakota Ditcheva

There’s been considerable uncertainty surrounding Ditcheva’s future after her season victory in 2024. She even addressed that frustration herself earlier this year amid a longer-than-desired spell of inactivity.

After regional and global wins in the PFL, many in the community have strengthened their calls for the UFC to do what they can to bring ‘Dangerous’ over to the Octagon.

In just the past month alone leading up to her first fight of 2025, Ditcheva’s potential future in the UFC has been a hot topic among fans on social media.

“High-level female fighters are entertaining, it’s just that there’s very few of them. That’s why they need to get Ditcheva in the UFC.”

“The UFC needs to grab Dakota Ditcheva.”

“Ditcheva might be the best women’s fighter on the planet.”

“If Dakota Ditcheva got a title shot in her UFC debut against Valentina, I genuinely think she demolishes her.”

“I’m praying the UFC signs Dakota Ditcheva.”

“Can’t wait to see Dakota Ditcheva make it across the pond. The UFC flyweight division would get really interesting with Dakota added to the mix.”

“Dakota Ditcheva vs Rose Namajunas would be nice if Dakota was in the UFC.”
