The BMF title is up for grabs in the main event of UFC 318.
The longest-spanning trilogy in UFC history comes to a close this weekend as Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway square off for the ‘Baddest Motherf—-‘ belt this Saturday in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Since this is his retirement fight, Poirier could walk away from the UFC with the BMF belt over his shoulder. As for Holloway, the BMF champion could be the first fighter to successfully defend the title.
Last year, former UFC heavyweight champion Mark Coleman wrapped the BMF belt around Holloway after he knocked out Justin Gaethje, the previous titleholder.
For UFC 318, Daniel Cormier suggested Holloway’s wife do the honors with a title defense.
At the press conference on Thursday, we heard from both headliners on who they want to present the BMF title.

Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway land on Lil Wayne to wrap BMF belt on UFC 318 winner
It was Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson who first wrapped the belt around Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244, following his win over Nate Diaz in 2019.
Then, it was Masvidal who presented the belt to Gaethje and later, Mark Coleman, handing it off to Holloway.
Fighting for the BMF title the second time around, Poirier wants it to be rap icon Lil Wayne who wraps the belt around him in the Octagon.
“Let Weezy do it,” Poirier proposed at the UFC 318 press conference.
“I’m not disagree with that,” Holloway replied.
Lil Wayne set to walk out with Dustin Poirier at UFC 318
Lil Wayne will be joining Poirier in his final walk to the Octagon in New Orleans.
The Louisiana rapper has been a friend of Poirier’s for a few years now, having ‘The Diamond’ on his podcast once.
Poirier’s dream walk-out plans come to reality as he trades his usual James Brown walk-out music for Lil Wayne’s ‘Drop The World’.
Poirier’s former foe, Michael Johnson, also campaigned for a special walk-out for his fight on the UFC 318 main card.
