One UFC 318 star had some choice words for Colby Covington after having his pursuit of a fight against the controversial welterweight snubbed.
Covington’s former teammate-turned-foe Dustin Poirier will mark the main attraction at Saturday’s pay-per-view event, as the UFC returns to Louisiana for the first time in over a decade.
Poirier will retire after UFC 318’s main event, bringing his nearly two-decade career to a close by challenging Max Holloway for the BMF title in their trilogy fight.
Among those tasked with setting the stage for the third clash between ‘The Diamond’ and ‘Blessed’ is the always entertaining Kevin Holland. ‘Trailblazer’ must get through Daniel Rodriguez relatively unscathed to keep his hopes of breaking the record for most UFC fights in a calendar year alive.
But ‘D-Rod’ was not Holland’s preference following his triumph last time out.

Kevin Holland shares hilarious roast of Colby Covington after his callout fell on deaf ears
Holland submitted Vicente Luque at UFC 316 in early June, a result that came in his fourth fight of 2025 to date and marked his third victory. In the aftermath, ‘Trailblazer’ set his sights on Covington, claiming at the post-fight press conference that their matchup would “do numbers.”
But having heard nothing in return from ‘Chaos’, who has instead been pursuing surging lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett, Holland took a shot at the ex-interim champ during UFC 318 media day.
“First, when he thought he could fight Paddy and go down a weight class, he was 100 percent healthy,” Holland said. “As soon as they said my name, vaginal muscle tore.
“So you know how that goes. Takes like eight to 10 weeks to heal. Not an easy process.
“I thought it was a great callout. Paddy has a hell of a name,” Holland continued. “I used to fight at ’85 and now I fight at ’70. Colby is not that big of a welterweight, so maybe he’s realizing he needs to get his ass down to ’55.”

Paddy Pimblett’s thoughts on ‘irrelevant’ Colby Covington
Talk of Covington and Pimblett settling their apparent feud inside the cage briefly emerged after a heated altercation backstage at UFC 314 in Miami. After Pimblett dominantly beat Michael Chandler, he traded barbs with ‘Chaos’ as security intervened to split them up.
While addressing the incident at UFC 314’s post-fight press conference, ‘The Baddy’ made it clear what he thinks of the polarizing American welterweight.
“Mr. Irrelevant, trying to stay relevant,” Pimblett said. “He just come over, started chatting s— because he seen there was a camera.
“Come over, started to say, ‘Ah, you fight scrubs.’ He said something about Chandler being 2-4 or something. Isn’t (Covington) 2-4 in his last six? Something like that. He’s an absolute bum, lad. He’s nearly 40, trying to stay relevant by jumping on me while there’s a camera there.
“I seen him at Power Slap the other week and walked past him. Stared at him and he just looked at the floor like the little p—- boy he is,” Pimblett added. “When there’s a camera there, he tries to say something. But he got tethered. We all absolutely terrorized him.”
