‘Ground and Pound’… Derrick Lewis has fans in hysterics with crude reaction to 35-second UFC Nashville win

Derrick Lewis’ celebrations for his win over Tallison Teixeira were arguably more impressive than his performance itself.

Beloved heavyweight contender Lewis handed gigantic six-foot-seven Teixeira the first defeat of his career on Saturday night. And within seconds he had torn off his pants, thrown his cup into the crowd and pretended to urinate in the corner of the cage.

That all of this came before he managed to get on the phone with President Donald Trump or give a crass post-fight interview to Daniel Cormier was something else. Lewis, who was ranked number nine before the fight, now finds himself as a legitimate contender in a division with few title options.

Derrick Lewis wasted no time making further headlines after he demolished Tallison Teixeira on Saturday night in the main event of UFC Nashville. The entire fight lasted just 35-seconds, and he seemed to spend longer celebrating in bizarre fashion.

It is customary for the 40-year-old to take off his shorts, and what has also become a tradition is the removal of his protective cup, which he tends to launch into the crowd. Less common is his heading into the opposition corner and ‘marking his territory’ by miming urination, which he did on Saturday.

Before he even had time to give a crass interview following the win, Lewis had already gone wild within the cage. And he topped it all off by getting on the phone with President Trump, which he refused to elaborate on during the post-fight press conference.

Derrick Lewis’ post-fight interview at UFC Nashville was exceptionally crude

When he eventually did get the microphone, Derrick Lewis did not disappoint. Massive chunks of his speech were censored for international audiences who were watching the fight internationally, but his message still got across.

“They been talking s— all week,” he said when asked about his urination stunt, which he did right in the rival corner following the fight. “I can’t speak no Portuguese but I know for sure they were talking s— all week.

“I just knew he had been fighting tomato cans his whole career so s— I appreciate UFC to help ya’ boy out. Also, I need some more of those taxicab drivers they got over in Brazil for my next fight. Those boys trying to drive a limo, s—, don’t get in with me.”

But Lewis saved his most outrageous line for last when Cormier asked him ‘what’s next’, he replied: “I been gone for two weeks so I want my wife next. It’s going to be a lot of grounding and pounding, she know what it is, fine a–.”
