UFC heavyweight Valter Walker continues to collect heels.

Johnny and Valter Walker are two of the most exciting fighters on the UFC roster. From high-flying knockouts, to slick submissions, the Walker brothers are one of the most accomplished sibling duos in MMA.

Valter and Kennedy Nzechukwu helped kick things off on the UFC Nashville prelims on Saturday in an intriguing heavyweight matchup. At a time in which the heavyweight division is in desperate need of fresh contenders, one of them set himself apart as they climbed towards the Top 15.

Valter Walker snaps Kennedy Nzechukwu’s heel for third-straight heel hook finish

Walker wasted little time getting after Nzechukwu in the opening seconds of the fight. The talented grappler charged forward, stunning Nzechukwu with a flurry of punches that forced his opponent up against the cage from the get-go.

As Walker initiated a clinch, he transitioned beautifully into a heel hook submission attempt that left Nzechukwu screaming in agony. Walker clinched the submission victory in just 54 seconds, the fastest win of his young MMA career.

Walker is notorious for trapping his opponents in heel hook submissions, as he’s demonstrated in recent wins over Don’Tale Mayes, Junior Tafa, and Nzechukwu. Walker helped a fan earn over $25,000 by betting on the talented Brazilian to earn the incredibly rare submission.

After a unanimous decision loss to Lukasz Brzeski in his UFC debut last year, Walker has won three straight fights by first-round heel hook, etching himself into the UFC record books. His style is vastly different from his brother, a knockout artist, as he continues to climb the heavyweight division.

A top prospect kicked off UFC Nashville with a bang

About an hour before Walker’s win, UFC strawweight Fatima Kline got the action started with a third-round head kick knockout to extend her win streak. The talented prospect knocked out Melissa Martinez with just a few minutes remaining in the fight to stun the UFC Nashville audience.

Walker sent a big message to the rest of the UFC heavyweight division with his performance on Saturday. He’s a matchup nightmare for the rest of the heavyweights with his nasty grappling and forward-pressing offensive arsenal.

Lightweight Mike Davis knocked out Mitch Ramirez with a knee and punches to get back in the win column at UFC Nashville. The card started with three consecutive stoppages.
