Dana White responds to fan criticism after attempting to shine a light on UFC Nashville card

Dana White has attempted to build some last minute hype for the UFC Nashville card on Saturday.

This Saturday, the premier promotion returns to Tennessee for UFC Nashville, headlined by heavyweight contenders Derrick Lewis and Tallison Teixeira.

Ahead of his fight, Lewis caused concern among fans that he may miss weight after he admitted he’d been eating enough calories for a family of four.

Despite that, when he weighed-in this past Friday, ‘The Black Beast’ came in at his lowest weight in 11 years as he showed a glimmer of abs whilst posing on the scale.

Dana White highlights two fights going under the radar

With it just being a Fight Night card, fans aren’t happy with the fact that it isn’t entirely stacked from top to bottom.

In the co-main event, one of the most exciting strikers in UFC history returns to the Octagon as Stephen Thompson clashes against Gabriel Bonfim.

And in an attempt to shine a light on some of the lesser known fights on the card, UFC boss Dana White took to social media to highlight a few fans that might be going under the radar.

“A couple of fights you might not know about. After his stint in the heavyweight division, knockout artist Junior Tafa makes his UFC debut in the light heavyweight division. Junior looks like he’s in great shape, let’s see if he can keep that power, all six of his wins have come by KO,” White said.

“Junior faces Tuco Tokkos, he’s an athlete very familiar with knocking people out, eight of his 10 wins have come by finishes with six by knockout, I’m looking forward to a very violent and fun fight,” he continued.

“Calvin Kattar vs Steve Garcia. Kattar has been fighting only the best competition for years, he’s high volume, all hands… Garcia has been on an absolute tear which got him a shot at a top 15 guy… We’ll see if he has a number by his name after this fight,” White highlighted.

Although this is something the UFC boss does for every fight card, one fan wasn’t entirely sold by White’s spiel, saying: “Seriously Dana trying to sell a Fight Night… (Dead).”

Instead of biting his tongue, White replied: “Not selling you anything. Letting you KNOW what you didn’t KNOW.”

Fans remain hopeful that despite the card not being the strongest on paper, it may involve some blockbuster finishes to set up for an incredible UFC 318 on July 19.
