Dana White confirms Jon Jones has officially taken huge step to end short-lived UFC retirement

Dana White has confirmed that Jon Jones is officially back in the UFC drug testing pool.

The former two-weight UFC champion announced his retirement from MMA just a few weeks ago.

Jon Jones completed a retirement U-turn after it was revealed President Donald Trump will host a UFC show at the White House in 2026.

‘Bones’ has since claimed he has re-entered the UFC drug testing pool and made himself available to compete on the card.

Dana White confirms Jon Jones is in the testing pool

Dana White promised that the upcoming White House card will be the ‘baddest’ UFC event of all time.

The UFC CEO also named Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall as his dream main event for the show.

According to White, that dream could become a reality as ‘Bones’ has officially ended his retirement by rejoining the UFC drug testing pool.

“He jumped back in the pool,” the UFC boss confirmed.

White added when asked if that was official: “Oh yeah.”

Jon Jones explains retirement U-turn

On Thursday evening, Jon Jones held an impromptu Q&A with fans on social media.

Jones revealed the reason for his UFC retirement U-turn and expressed a willingness to fight anyone after previously being accused of ducking the new undisputed heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall.

“Donald made his announcement on the morning of the Fourth of July, I called the UFC headquarters that very same afternoon,” he said in one of his many tweets. “I’ll just leave it at that. America! Now that tickles my pickle.”

In a later post, he replied to a fan predicting an all-time classic fight: “It would be, for me it’s about the opportunity to represent America at the White House. I don’t care who I fight that night. I found my reason why, that’s what I needed, something that was more than money.”
